This year, the Giddyup is gonna throw down in Lions Park to celebrate a year of great trail work and riding. Whether you’re racing, volunteering, or just looking for a great spot to listen to music and hang with friends, you have a home at the The Get Down, the Giddyup’s second first-ever ho-down and expo.
And, thanks to REI’s stellar partnership and support, we’ve got two big updates to share with y’all.
First we’re going big with special guests Rapidgrass, Golden’s own kickass bluegrass band. Mark Morris, lead singer, pro skier, and local, is bringing his high energy magic to our finish line for a Sunday-afternoon throw down.
And, for those of you interested in drinking locally brewed beer, we have a partnership with New Terrain and Declaration Brewing to serve our very own session pale ale we’re calling Giddy Hop Ale — with proceeds to the trails. Not only are these two outstanding Colorado breweries donating their time and effort to the cause, they’re canning Giddy Hop Ale with a label painted by local artist Jesse Crock.
With that we invite you to The Get Down. We’ll have food for the masses, great vendors, and more than a few friends, old and new. And, just like last year, we’ll have hay bales and fun times for kids of all ages with a playground, pool and river just a few yards away.
So, mark your calendars now for September 10th, 2017 in Golden’s only Lions Park. It’s gonna be a rowdy, fantastic time.
P.S.: Admission? It’s free. But all proceeds of this killer event go back to our trails. Send your thanks to REI for their generosity and support.
