Thank you for your support of the Golden Giddyup!

We’ve put together this list of different ways for your shop, team or club to get involved in supporting the our efforts to shape the way JeffCo trails are maintained, designed and built. Our stewardship efforts have proven to be a fantastic way to build relationships with JeffCo staff and other trail visitors, but they’ve also brought our community together and given us the Golden Giddyup: Jefferson County’s First Mountain Bike Race. We hope you’ll consider some of the options below to help us celebrate our volunteers.

Shape What You Shred!

Sign up for a stewardship effort as a shop, team or club. We have an ambitious schedule this summer, with weekly evening efforts and twice-monthly weekend efforts.  Let’s get your group committed to a date early! You can use the posts to promote your group and we’ll celebrate your efforts as well. Dates are available here.

Sponsor An Effort

Can’t make it out on the trail? How about buying beer, pizza, making some baked goods, or offering up some shwag/ gift certificates for a specific effort on the calendar? We’ll be sure to say thanks!

In-Shop and Online Promotion

Promote the stewardship efforts and the race by sharing on social media, with your shop/ team email communications, and gatherings.  Shops and businesses can contact us to hang event posters and sell hats and other Giddyup paraphernalia (100% of proceeds go to the trails!). Anything that gets the word out!

Incentives for Volunteers

Some local shops and businesses are offering incentives for volunteers. If someone puts in 10 hours of trail work, they get 10% off, 20 hours = 20% off and 30+ hours can reach “team level” discounts (all on P&A). Some shops are also offering our Giddyup Trail Team volunteers (these are volunteers who help run our events and are committed to putting in between 45-100+ hours this year) with Employee Purchasing (there are 10 such positions).

Contact Stewardship Coordinator Al Head with questions or to get involved!

On this page, you’ll find everything from registration information to helpful videos that cover some of the basic principles of trail design and maintenance. Crew Leads might reference these videos periodically and encourage participants to review prior to efforts so that we’re all familiar with the goals and terminology.
