The Giddyup

image3The second annual Golden Giddyup will be held on Sunday, September 10th, 2017 in Golden, Colorado. This all-day mountain bike event is both a great day in the saddle and a way to commemorate the 600 hours of trail work Giddyup organizers, partners, and riders have put into Jeffco Open Space trails and parks throughout the past year. We’re working with Jeffco Open Space to hold this event on Apex, Chimney Gulch, and North Table Mountain. The Giddyup features an enduro-style format, with timed descents and climbs, meaning all styles and strengths will be celebrated on stage. Awards for the day include the Best Climber, and Best Descender, much like crowning the King and Queen of a high school dance (you decide which is which ;-)).

FAMILY FUN

IMG_1010The Giddyup founders are all families. No trail work or rides happen for us without the support and heavy calendaring of our households. And the Giddyup is no different. We want this event to be a genuinely great time for everyone attending. So we’ve got hikes for the non-riders, strider cups for the wee-riders, and food and drink for every taste. Plus, central Golden is home to the best family-friendly spots in our sunny town. The Golden Rec center pool and play areas, plus Clear Creek and the library, are all available for every style of entertainment need. In fact, you could ride the Giddyup, hit the water slide, get some swing time, and read some books and still have time to grab a beer and dinner before the evening’s festivities start.

COLORADO-ONLY BEER, FOOD AND GEAR EXPO

There’s no shortage of great bike companies making outstanding frames and components here in Colorado, and we want to celebrate all of them. Same goes for our state’s brewers and cooks. That’s why our expo is only for Colorado companies working here in our home state because you’ve got to draw a line somewhere and, for us, that somewhere begins and ends with our state’s borders.
